1. TESL/TEFL Teacher
Did you know that often you just need a university degree in any discipline to score a job teaching English abroad?
Some countries only require a TESOL qualification with no degree!
In most South East Asian countries you can earn between US$1500-2000 per month! And that isn’t even full-time, most contracts only require about 20 hours per week, which gives you plenty of time to explore the region.
Some of the other benefits can include free flights, free accommodation and free visas!

There are plenty more jobs all over the world, allowing you to travel consistently and earn while you are doing it.
One of the other great things about teaching English to kids and adults on location is that you get immersed in the culture; you’re not just sitting on the sidelines seeing the most common tourist areas.
2. Travel Agent
Some people with wanderlust might think that being a travel agent would actually be difficult because you are constantly helping others plan their holidays.
You get to find out the best places to visit and get all the inside info. Often travel agents are selected to go and check out tours and locations so they can recommend them to customers.
And don’t forget, most travel companies offer their employees significant discounts for their travel requirements.
3. Tour Guide
Imagine loving a place so much that you want to stay, but you can’t because you’ve run out of money. You’ve extended your stay as much as possible, and know as much as any local. What can you do?
You become a tour guide!
Many travel companies look for tour guides who know the area, and speak the language of their customers.
4. Instructor
Do you have a skill or qualification that you can teach others while travelling? There many jobs that are in demand in the travel industry that you might not even know you have a shot at!
Do you enjoy skiing or snowboarding? You could be an instructor in Canada, the US or Japan or even somewhere in Europe.
Do you have scuba diving qualifications? You could lead tourists on dives on the Great Barrier Reef or in the Maldives.
5. Cruise Ship
Cruise ships can carry thousands of tourists and travel to some of the most exotic locations in the world, they need hundreds of employees to keep things running smoothly.
The great thing about jobs on a cruise ship is that you don’t have to be highly skilled or qualified to get on board.
You could get a job as a hairdresser or a masseuse, a chef, a cleaner, a waiter, a lifeguard… the options are endless!
6. Au Pair
Do you like kids? Being an Au Pair is a great way to see the world and experience different cultures.
You get to live with a family and look after their children part-time while receiving a living allowance. Some experience with children is preferred as is qualifications of some description; however depending on the position not necessary.
7. Bartender
Do you know how to pour a beer or make a margarita? Enjoy working in a busy workplace?
These jobs are often easy to get just by pounding the pavement and visiting the local establishments. You can often pick up work even for just a few days to tide you over until your next destination.
And what better way to find out all the local inside knowledge than talking to locals all night!
8. Nurse or Doctor
There are heaps of countries screaming out for qualified and experienced medical professionals. There are often positions available in the UK, New Zealand and Malaysia as a start.

9. Blogger
Blogging is huge! Many bloggers make enough money to live off and travel extensively around the world.
There are many travel bloggers, but you don’t have to stick to travel as your niche. You could have a photography blog, or a book review blog or something else that you have an interest in.
10. Freelancing
Freelancing can theoretically be done from anywhere in the world as long as you have access to the internet.
There are many different kinds of freelancers, some require significant experience and skills, others you can start with little more than a passing interest in the subject.
Of course to be successful you will need to have a firm grasp of what your clients need, and how to get clients.
Some popular freelance jobs include:
- Copywriting/proofreading
- Website design
- Social Media Marketing
- SEO
- Graphic Design
- Writer
